SP600S V11 – Sungrow’s first power optimiser for panels up to 600 W

The Sungrow SP600S operates as a power optimiser at the individual panel level and is a key component for enhancing the efficiency, safety and flexibility of your solar system. Its main function is to ensure that each panel operates at its Maximum Power Point (MPPT). This compensates for factors such as partial shading, dirt or degradation of individual modules, which would otherwise reduce the output of the entire string. Thanks to Shade-Proof technology and real-time control, it prevents a weaker panel from reducing the output of stronger panels in the string. For enhanced safety, the optimiser can quickly reduce the voltage on individual panels to a safe level in the event of a detected fault or manual shutdown. Communication with the inverter takes place via PLC (Power Line Communication) and requires no additional components or cabling. The communication range between the inverter and the furthest optimiser is 350 m.

High safety ensures rapid shutdown of the entire PV system within 20 seconds. In the event of an arc fault or if the AC switch on the inverter is switched off, the voltage to the panel is reduced to 1 V (or 30 V for the entire system). A very useful feature is the bypass – in the event of a fault, the affected optimiser disconnects without affecting the other panels in the string. It supports varying numbers of panels within the same MPPT circuit and long strings of up to 35 panels. Monitoring (data refresh every 10 seconds) at panel level offers diagnostics and IV curve scanning, facilitating the identification of faulty panels and a rapid response.
