The PowerStack ST225kWh-110kW-2h cabinet-based energy storage system from Sungrow
The PowerStack ST225kWh-110kW-2h is Sungrow’s latest commercial storage system, which is particularly suitable for industrial applications. Thanks to its cabinet design with a high protection rating and C5 corrosion resistance, it offers flexibility in terms of installation and can easily cope with outdoor environments. The cornerstones of the system are prismatic LiFePO4 battery cells arranged in four packs, complemented by a 110 kW inverter capable of discharging the cells’ full capacity in two hours (0.5 C). The battery packs are liquid-cooled, ensuring minimal temperature differences (2.5°C) across the system, which has a significant impact on the safety and service life of the battery cells.
Safety is a key feature of all Sungrow products, whether batteries or inverters. PowerStack cabinets feature intelligent cell temperature control and three-level fire protection. As part of this protection, sensors for flammable gases, smoke and a temperature sensor are built in. An integrated aerosol fire suppression system, including an alarm and sprinkler, ensures that risks are minimised. Furthermore, the entire cabinet is robustly constructed and ensures that the materials are fire-resistant for up to 2 hours.
For larger installations, up to 10 cabinets can be connected in parallel, including off-grid applications. For off-grid use, a transformer station must be installed; in this case too, everything is supplied by Sungrow.
